Coalition forces captured four al Qaeda leaders in Baghdad. Iraqi police detained 18 insurgents near Kirkuk. Iraqi troops captured nine al Qaeda fighters in Diyala province and captured a suspect behind yesterday’s IED attack in Baghdad. Four Iraqis were killed and nine were wounded in an IED attack in Baghdad.


Afghanistan

Afghan National Security Forces cleared Taliban forces from the towns of Karez deh Baba and Kajaki in Helmand province. A Taliban spokesman threatened to blow up cellular towers across Afghanistan if the signals are not turned off at night. The Taliban believes the US is using the signals to track its fighters.





Pakistan

The Turkish military operation inside Iraq is expected to last 15 days. Iraqi’s foreign minister claimed only several hundred Turkish troops have entered northern Iraq.
