Ansar al Sharia Tunisia’s media wing has released a DVD commemorating the life of Said al Shihri, al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula’s (AQAP) slain deputy leader. An image advertising the DVD on Ansar al Sharia Tunisia’s Facebook page can be seen at the top of this post. It appears that the disc contains mainly audio files and articles, which can also be downloaded online. AQAP recently confirmed that al Shihri had indeed been killed in a US drone strike.
This is not the first time Ansar al Sharia Tunisia has used social media to honor Said al Shihri. Earlier this year, the organization altered the header of its Facebook page to memorialize al Shihri.
