Jund al Khilafah claims double bombing in Kazakhstan

The Jund al Khilafah, or Soldiers of the Caliphate, a “brigade” of foreign fighters based along the Afghan-Pakistan border, has claimed credit for two bombings in the city of Atyrau in Kazakhstan. Last week the terror group threatened to conduct attacks in the country if the government did not repeal the ban on women wearing the veil and apologize for the ban. It appears the terror group quickly made good on that promise. Today, one person, who appears to be one of the members of the group planting one of two bombs in Atyrau, was killed in a premature detonation.

The Soldiers of the Caliphate claimed credit for the bombings, in a statement released today on jihadist forums. In the statement, which has been translated by the SITE Intelligence Group, the group denied that the operative killed was a suicide bomber, and said the blasts “were just a warning to the government.” From the SITE translation:

We deny the fact that the last attack was carried out as a martyrdom-operation. It seems that the bomb exploded accidently, which led to the martyrdom of its carrier. We ask Allah to accept him among the martyrs.

We note here that these two explosions were just a warning to the government, and we deliberately did not inflict deaths and injuries in fear for the public who come in large numbers to these places. However, if in the future we do not find listening ears and responses to our demands, then, we swear by Allah, who raised the heavens without pillars, that out next attacks will be back-backing to the tyrant and will bring forth unceasing rivers from the blood of his henchmen….

The statement was signed by the “Al Zahir Baibars Battalion” of the Jund al Khilafah Brigade. This is the the same unit that issued last week’s threat. It is based along the Afghan-Pakistan border, and is known to have carried out attacks in Khost province, Afghanistan, which is a haven for the Haqqani Network.

maybe these idiots should take the sign God gave them, lack of control over their bombs as proof he don’t approve of their agenda and that His hand is truly against them.
