The British Embassy warned of the possibility of terrorist attacks against UK interests. An American doctor in Abu Dhabi praised security forces for protecting his family from an attempted bombing by the person suspected in the murder of an American teacher. An Emirati official said the suspect learned from terrorist websites how to make bombs.

Police arrested a woman suspected of murdering an American schoolteacher on Dec. 1 in a shopping mall bathroom in Abu Dhabi. A top UAE security official said the suspect also plotted to bomb the home of an American resident. The US Embassy in Abu Dhabi yesterday warned Americans to avoid large crowds and to maintain high situational awareness.

Foreign Minister al Nahyan warned that extremism, terrorism, and sectarianism in the region are posing serious threats to “our national security and international security and peace.” An American woman who worked as a schoolteacher was stabbed to death by a person in a black robe in a shopping mall bathroom in Abu Dhabi.

The UAE Cabinet has listed 83 entities as terrorist organizations, including groups in Europe and the United States. The Arab League said it supported the designations in light of increasing terrorism in the region.
