The Iraqi military claimed yet again that it liberated Jurf al Sakhar and killed 140 Islamic State fighters. Kurdish officials claimed to have retaken Zumar; the Kurds previously claimed to have liberated Zumar on Aug. 10. An Islamic State suicide bomber killed seven Iraqi soldiers in Taji. The US launched 22 airstrikes against the Islamic State in Fallujah, Baiji, and near the Mosul Dam.
