The Islamic State arrested and flogged people in Deir Izzour, where it also ambushed Islamic Front fighters and exiled a member of the Al Nusrah Front’s former sharia council. The Islamic State clashed with regime forces in Hasakah and took over the Melabeyyi Regiment; lost control of the Sha’er gas field in Homs to regime forces yesterday; and in Aleppo, battled regime forces near Kweris airport, fought against the Islamic Front, Al Nusrah, and Jabhat al Akrad in the northern Aleppo countryside, and clashed with Kurdish YPG forces in Ayn al-Arab. In Idlib, 35 Islamic fighters defected and headed to Raqqah to join the IS, and a suicide car bombing in Atama yesterday killed nine people, including an Islamic Front commander. Al Nusrah and the Islamic Front clashed with regime forces in Reef Dimashq; Damascus; Deraa; and Aleppo, where they were joined by Ansar Al Din Front, Al Muhajereen, Al Ansar army, Fajer Al Islam, and rebels. The Islamic Front also clashed with regime forces in Hama. A car bombing in Homs targeting the Alawite and Christian neighborhood of Atama killed at least seven people.
