Coalition and Afghan forces launched an offensive in Kunar province. Fifteen Taliban and al Qaeda fighters were killed in a premature detonation in Paktika province. Coalition and Afghan forces killed eight Taliban fighters in Ghazni and five more in Kandahar. The Taliban killed two US troops in Kunar, a British soldier in Helmand, and a civilian in Uruzgan.
