Pakistan closed the Khyber Pass and launched an operation west of Peshawar. The Taliban torched tribal leaders’ homes in Bajaur and murdered an ANP leader in Swat. Swat Taliban chief Mullah Fazlullah said female education is prohibited in Islam.
