Afghan forces killed 22 Taliban after attacks on district centers in Paktia and Paktika provinces in eastern Afghanistan. A US helicopter crashed in Kunar province. One Coalition soldier was killed and three were wounded in an IED attack in Helmand province. An Afghan government official blamed Pakistan for the April assassination attempt in Kabul on President Karzai’s life.
