Afghan commandos captured 17 Taliban during operations near the Tirzaye and Sabari districts in Khost province. Five police and one child were killed in an IED attack in Khost. Two Polish soldiers were killed in an IED attack in Paktika province. The US may make up for any troop deficiencies in the South; France may deploy combat troops in the East; Norway will send additional trainers.
