Exiled former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has been cleared to return to Pakistan by the Supreme Court. Sharif, who accepted money from Osama bin Laden, vowed to challenge Musharraf for the Presidency. The Minister of Parliamentary Affairs threatened to invoke emergency rule due to the court’s decision. One Taliban fighter was killed and four paramilitary troops wounded after hundreds of Taliban attacked a fort in North Waziristan.
