Afghanistan National Security Forces Order of Battle

The Long War Journal is pleased to publish the first release of the Afghanistan National Security Forces Order of Battle (ANSF OOB). The ANSF OOB, like the Iraqi Security Forces Order of Battle, is based on open source information. We believe the ANSF OOB is a good representation of the Afghan military and police structure. The OOB will be updated and published on a quarterly basis.

The ANSF OOB was compiled and written by CJ Radin who has had a long time interest in military and international political affairs.

Kudos CJR!!! Congratulations on this. I'll review for comments.

I would add a chart to the equipment section which summarizes known equipment in use, and in procurement backlog. At the moment, the chart will be a bit sparse. But it can be filled in as we go along.

Also a sources page that summarizes all Afghan articles and briefings.

Consider asking questions at some of the blogger briefs. Or if the timing doesn't work for you, have someone such as DJ (or anyone else) ask your questions.

I would also hide the lines in the spreadsheet before exporting it to PDF format.
