The United Kingdom and China are blocking India’s efforts to place Jaish-e-Mohammad founder Maulana Masood Azhar on the terrorist list. The two countries are also blocking India’s attempt to place Lashkar-e-Taiba operational commander Azam Cheema and ideologue Abdul Rehman Makki on the terrorist list.


Taliban strike in Peshawar

Jaish-e-Mohammed

Jaish-e-Mohammed leader Maulana Masood Azhar is sheltering in North Waziristan after the Indians pressured Pakistan to extradite him. Pakistan’s defense minister said Azhar was under house arrest in December 2008. Azhar appointed his younger brother Mufti Abdul Rauf as the acting leader of the group.
