Earlier today, published reports cited family members of Mohamed al Zahawi, the leader of Ansar al Sharia in Benghazi, as saying that Zahawi had succumbed to injuries sustained during fighting last year. Zahawi’s death had been rumored for months, but there was never any confirmation. His family told the press that he had been hospitalized since receiving his wounds. More evidence of Zahawi’s demise has surfaced online. Jihadists have posted a photo, shown above, that allegedly shows Zahawi after his death.
