The Taliban overran a district in Nuristan, killed three ISAF troops in the east, and destroyed seven communications towers in Helmand. Security forces killed and captured dozens of Taliban and Haqqani Network commanders and fighters in Helmand, Uruzgan, Kapisa, Khost, Paktika, Logar, Kunar, and Jawzjan.
