Coalition and Afghan forces killed 52 Taliban and captured one commander in operations throughout the country. Thirty-three fighters were killed in Helmand province, 12 were killed in Kandahar province, four were killed in Farah province, and three were killed in Ghazni province. The Taliban commander was captured in Ghazni as he tried to escape a cordon while wearing a burqa.
