Afghan auxiliary militias have been on the front lines in the fight against the Taliban in Uruzgan province. Suicide bombers targeted a convoy of US security contractor in Kabul and an ISAF convoy in Paktika; two Americans and two Afghans were killed. The Taliban are enforcing sharia and collecting taxes in Musa Qala. The Taliban released 18 deminers kidnapped six days ago.
