I’ll have an update on the progress on the trip to Iraq later today. In the meantime, if you haven’t yet donated, please consider doing so today. This is an extremely costly venture and I can use all of the help you can give me. The fundraising has gone real well, but we are only one-third of the way to the targeted goal. I now have press credentials in order to get into the country. I am planning on leaving on or around November 19th.
I want to thank all who have generously contributed. I may not be able to thank each of you personally, and apologize for this. The emails have been overwhelming and I cannot properly express my gratitude to everyone who has contributed or contacted me to express their support. Thank you does not work but will have to do.
If you are not comfortable using PayPal, or wish to inquire about donating equipment, please email at the following address:

No sooner do I get back in town do I learn that you are leaving…for Iraq! This is such a great opportunity for you, as well as for the readers of The Fourth Rail. Since I came across this blog nearly a year ago, I have come to depend upon the insight and analysis you provide that the MSM can’t — or won’t — provide. Being on the ground in Iraq will only make your blogging even better.
Thank you for all the time and effort you have put into what must seem at times a thankless task. I wish you well on your journey and will pray for your safe return. I know this will be hard on your family so I will remember them in my prayers as well. God bless!
I just made a teensy little donation to Bill Rogio, and would strongly urge you to do the same… Reading his blog, The Fourth Rail, has been the only way to see the fight in Iraq as a whole…
Not exactly a big enough donation to buy a set of the best body armor but I wish you the best of luck and godspeed!
Mr. Roggio, I enjoy reading your blog almost on a daily basis. Be careful over… here! You wont be impressed with the region you’re headed too, the scenery is terrible, oh yah, and all those pesky insurgents…
Enjoy the trip, the Marines will take care of you!
