A suicide car bomber killed seven civilians in an attack outside a US base in Khost province. Six Taliban fighters were killed after rocketing a US base in Paktika province. The Taliban killed one Afghan soldier in Wardak province and wounded six Afghan soldiers during an ambush in Ghazni province.

Suicide assault teams target military and government buildings in Khost, the home of the Haqqani Network.


The Taliban took credit for a series of suicide and armed attacks against government buildings in Khost province that killed 20 people. Afghan and Coalition forces killed five Taliban fighters and wounded six more in Herat province, and detained two more in Kunduz, two in Helmand, and one in Kunar. More than 30 girls in Kapisa province were made ill in the third poisoning at schools in two weeks.
