Iraq Embed Update

I'll be heading to Iraq in about 2 weeks. I want to thank everyone who has contributed to the effort. I am grateful for your support. My apologies for not being able to thank each of you personally at this time.
If you haven't yet donated, I ask for your help. No donation is too small to help me along my way.
Or, if you are not comfortable with PayPal and wish to send a check, email me at billroggio@gmail.com and I will send you an address.
I want to thank Ali Verlander at Delta Logic for generously donating a satellite phone for this trip. If you are a business or a group that wishes to sponsor the embed or purchase individual equipment or services, please email me and I will be happy to discuss. I'm still hoping to pick up a new camera (I'm interested in the Nikon D70) and still have to purchase life insurance and bandwidth for the RBGAN - the satellite uplink to the Internet. This is a costly service but ensures that I am able to publish daily.
Again, my sincerest thanks to all of you for making this embed and the prior trips to Iraq and Afghanistan possible. I couldn't do this without your support. My family and I cannot thank you enough for your help and support.
Best wishes.

I'm worried about your personal imbed . I've seen it before on the web. They go and then we never here from them again. Loss of interest in those who regularly read your blog. I sincerly hope you will not do the same. Your input to the web world is sorely needed.

This will not be Bill's first embed and he will be posting from the field.
People pay more attention to him when he is over there and reporting first hand...

Many of us in Bill's family felt the same way you do before his first trip to Iraq. In my talks with Bill, he constantly reaffirms his commitment to his blog. No matter where he goes or with whom he contributes, he always comes back to the Rail.
My trust is that the Army and Marines will take care of him. He knows how to take care of himself, and always has the thoughts of Jennie and the trio in mind.
Talk to you soon, son.

Hi Bill,
Good luck with your trip. I contributed a very modest amount, but I hope it helps. I look forward to your reporting and hope that you have a great holiday season!
Best,
Shawn

Thanks again, everyone, I really appreciate the help.
Eric, I look forward to meeting you & the engineers in Ramadi!

I worry for Bill. True, he has gone to Iraq before and Afghanistan once, and returned safely. However, going repeatedly increases the odds of misfortune.
I keep thinking of Scott Elliot's parents, and hope the same does not happen to others.

Bill will have excellent security in western Iraq.
