Qatar's ambassador to the Syrian National Coalition said the country's new ruler, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani, who took over last month after his father abdicated, plans to continue the policy of supporting the Syrian opposition. The head of the SNC is visiting Qatar this week to coordinate the supply of aid. The Foreign Ministry called for a political solution to the conflict in Egypt, and said it could be achieved only through the release of former president Morsi and other detained leaders.
