Army chief el Sisi called on Egyptians to take to the streets on Friday to give the army a mandate to "confront violence and potential terrorism." A senior Muslim Brotherhood official responded by saying that protests against the army would continue. Militants fired RPGs at a police station in the Sinai. In a separate attack in the Sinai, at least one security personnel was killed. Four militants reportedly died in a car bomb attack in the Sinai. Former president Morsi was questioned over the January 2011 prison break in which he was freed. The public prosecutor issued arrest warrants for a number of Muslim Brotherhood officials, including leader Mohammed Badie.
