Security forces killed two Syrian nationals, one of whom was wearing an explosive belt, in a shootout in Western Bekaa. Two other Syrians were wounded in the clash, which occurred when troops intercepted a van with Syrian plates that was carrying explosives. Six people have died in four days of clashes in Tripoli between supporters and opponents of the Assad regime. The Islamic State of Iraq and the Sham released video of ISIS fighters firing rockets at Hezbollah camps in the Bekaa valley.

The UN-backed Special Tribunal said it secretly indicted Hassan Habib Merhi, a fifth suspect in the assassination of former prime minister Rafik Hariri, in August. Authorities charged 12 suspected terrorists for plotting against supporters of the Assad regime; in a separate case three suspected terrorists confessed to planning assassinations.

Seven suspects charged with firing rockets in June at Hezbollah targets in Beirut confessed to membership in the Tal Kalakh Martyrs’ Battalion, a Free Syrian Army unit financed by a Syrian living in Turkey.
