Doku Umarov may have been killed. The Interfax news agency claimed an unidentified contact in a Russian law enforcement agency confirmed his death. Interfax stated that tests are being conducted on the remains to confirm the identification. This may be a false report; in the past, Russia has claimed deaths of top-level rebels only to be proven false.
