Afghanistan

Afghan commandos captured a Taliban commander in Baglan province and two Taliban fighters in Herat province.. Two Taliban fighters have died while in custody. A US soldier was killed in Eastern Afghanistan.


Iraq

Three US soldiers were killed in an accident in southern Iraq. Iraqi forces captured five “criminals” in Baghdad and four wanted men in Fallujah. Seven civilians were wounded in a bombing in Fallujah, and seven civilians and four soldiers were wounded in a IED attacks in Mosul.

The Taliban

Mullah Omar rejected reports claiming he is negotiating with Saudi Arabia’s King Abdullah or submitted a seven-point peace plan. “The fact is that the Islamic Emirates has neither held any negotiations in Saudi Arabia or in the United Arab Emirates and neither anywhere else,” Omar said.
