The death toll in Saturday’s suicide attacks in Islamabad and Rawalpindi has risen to over 35 killed. The NWFP government has called for a peace jirga to resolve the Swat situation. The Taliban is said to have abandoned Alpuri in Shangla as heavy fighting was reported in the district and neighboring Swat. Three soldiers were wounded during Taliban attacks in North Waziristan. The Taliban detonated a bomb at the main police station in Swabi.
