The US has offerred a $50,000 bounty for Abdul Basit Usman, a former (MILF) fighter with ties to Jemaah Islamiah and Abu Sayyaf, who is behind the spate of bombings in Mindanao since October 2006. Locals believe the security in Jolo has improved since operations resulted in the death of Abu Sayyaf and JI leaders.
