Please support Public Multimedia

After much work and effort (and a little stress), I can announce that the IRS has granted 501(c)(3) designation to Public Multimedia Inc. (PMI), the non-profit news organization born of my blogging efforts. This means that all donations made to PMI are 100% tax deductible.

PMI is at a critical stage of its development. I need your help. Please consider donating today to PMI and help move PMI from its nascent state to a full-fledged news organization.

In order to further our mission to provide reporing and analysis on The Long War, PMI will be supporting 3 embeds in the upcoming days. We are fully sponsoring 2 embeds: Wes Morgan, an ROTC cadet from Princeton University who writes for the Daily Princetonian, will be embedding in Iraq with General Petreaus and his staff in Baghdad; and Bradley Patty, a military contractor who has written on intelligence and counterinsurgency, who will be reporting from the Philippines with U.S. special operations forces and the Armed Forces of Philippines. In addition, PMI will be providing Michael Totten with insurance for his current embed in Iraq. I also anticipate traveling back to Iraq in September to report on the progress of the surge.

PMI will also launch a new Web site called the Long War Journal where I will post my regular news and analysis. You will continue to receive the reporting you have come to expect at The Fourth Rail. Through PMI and the Long War Journal, I will be able to hire additional writers and staff to provide thorough news coverage of the various aspects of global terrorism threats.

Your support has allowed me to make it this far, from a guy with computer blogging in his spare time to a full-time writer covering the Long War and supporting embeds of several writers, including myself. I honestly could not be where I am today without your generous financial assistance. Thank you for your continued support.

I’m a long time NET cheater, I must admit. Don’t register to pay shareware etc. Never support thru the internet except for my religious charities (don’t fink to my church about the above sin. Never support NEWS like CNN wanting money for video, which they just cancelled in favor of more ads before video. I can get my WSJ fix free thru a work connection
But in your case, I make an exception. You’re doing a great job, I visit nearly every day. Well, the check will be in the mail as I check with the mrs on how much.
    God bless

    Bill,
Hitting Paypal just now for you and the cause of PMI is one of the best buys in this world. I wish it could be more, but I’m confident your readers will dig as deep as they can. Your writings, your truth…have kept me sane, many a day.
Best of luck to PMI. Please keep us posted on operations there!

    Bill,
I depend on your work and the other posts here at the Fourth Rail for the truth (good and bad) on the ground wherever we fight the enemy. As resources become available to me, I will surely keep supporting your efforts. Thanks!

    Bill,
I’ve been looking for a useful way to provide support for our troops and support for our President during these trying times. Fortunately, my local Senators (McCain and Kyl) are still firmly behind the cause, so I haven’t had to issue any reminders of what I expect from them in funding our brave men and women. This has provided me the perfect opportunity to feel that I’m at least contributing in some small way.
My sincere thanks to you and your fine team. Keep up the great work!
