The Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant clashed with Kurdish YPG fighters in Aleppo and Hasakah. Rebels in Reef Dimashq executed two men as sharia punishment and threw their corpses into a marketplace. Fighters from the Al Nusrah Front, Ahrar al-Sham, Liwa' al-Haq, al-Miqdad bin Aswad battalion, and other rebel factions stormed an Alawite village in Homs. Ahrar al-Sham, Suqoor al-Sham brigades, Jaish al-Islam, Tawhid brigade, al-Furqan brigades, and al-Haq brigade called for an immediate ceasefire in Azaz between ISIL and the Asifat al-Shamal brigade, and a resolution by sharia court in Aleppo City. Activists in Raqqah accused ISIL of smashing an Islamic statue. The UN said chemical weapons experts in Syria have made "encouraging initial progress" towards eradicating the country's chemical weapons.
