Regime forces clashed in Aleppo with fighters from the Al Nusrah Front, the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant, Jeish Mohammad, Nour al-Deen al-Zanki, and Ahrar al-Sham. ISIL fighters clashed with the A'seft al-Shamal rebel brigade in Azaz, and with Kurdish YPG fighters elsewhere in Aleppo. ISIL seized two checkpoints and a base from the Northern Storm brigade in Azaz and is advancing toward the Turkish border. An ISIL spokesman recently warned against the establishment of anti-al Qaeda militias in Syria. The Al Nusrah Front released video of a late June raid on a transport and armament battalion in Deraa.
