The government offered a reward for the capture of any "non-Syrian terrorist," and promised that amnesty would be offered to rebels who informed on their comrades. Syrian troops and tanks took up positions outside the ancient Christian village of Maaloula, which was stormed by the Al Nusrah Front and Free Syrian Army troops earlier this week, after a preliminary attack by a Jordanian suicide bomber with the Al Nusrah Front. Kurdish forces clashed with rebels in Aleppo province. Sources say Syria, Iran, and Hezbollah have set up a coordination center to counter threatened US strikes on Syria, but Iran and Hezbollah are thought unlikely to retaliate unless the strikes seriously jeopardize the Assad regime or its military.
