A security officer was shot dead by unidentified gunmen in the Sinai. Authorities are reportedly preparing to launch a major operation in the Sinai "to clean it up from terrorist and criminal cells." Eleven militants were arrested following an attack on a checkpoint near el Arish. Unidentified assailants attacked a gas pipeline between Jordan and Egypt. Hamas called on Egypt to reopen the Rafah crossing, which has been closed due to ongoing instability in the Sinai. Israel's counterterrorism bureau reissued a warning for Israelis to immediately leave the Sinai. Deliberations between secular and Islamist parties continue over who will become the new prime minister. Gamaa Al-Islamiya demanded the resignation of newly appointed President Mansour.
