Rebel forces have encircled much of Damascus and are intensifying their attacks. Mortar rounds hit the architecture department at Damascus University, killing at least 15 civilians in what state media are calling a terrorist attack. Government forces are retaliating against rebel strongholds in the suburbs, resulting in civilian casualties. Fighters attacked a bus carrying Public Telecommunications workers, killing two civilians. Three fighters from the Palestinian Liberation army, including a lieutenant, were killed by rebels in A'dra.
