North Korea conducted its third nuclear weapon test despite UN resolutions, and said it would never bow to the UN resolutions. North Korea threatened further hostile actions against the US. China said it was “extremely concerned” about North Korea’s threat to go beyond a third nuclear test. A foreign ministry spokesperson said: “We oppose any behavior which may exacerbate the situation and any acts which are not beneficial towards the denuclearization of the Korean peninsula.”

South Korea said the UN would impose tougher sanctions if North Korea went ahead with a third nuclear test. North Korea threatened to go beyond a third nuclear test because of “hostile” UN sanctions. North Korea loaded a video on YouTube showing a US city in flames after missile attack.

North Korea threatened to attack South Korea if it joined UN sanctions. China said it would reduce its assistance to North Korea if the country engages in further nuclear tests.

Following the UN’s condemnation of its ballistic missile launch, North Korea vowed to conduct more nuclear weapons tests and missile launches. North Korea said it was targeting the US as its “sworn enemy” and would retaliate against the US with “force, not with words, as it regards jungle law as the rule of its survival.”

Following yesterday’s UN Security Council vote condemning North Korea for launching a ballistic missile, North Korea said it would no longer participate in nuclear talks and would boost its military and nuclear capabilities.

The UN Security Council voted unanimously to condemn North Korea for the launch of a ballistic missile last December. The resolution also said the council “expresses its determination to take significant action in the event of a further North Korean launch or nuclear test.”
