Doku Umarov, the successor to Shamil Basayev, the slain leader of the Chechen jihad, has declared the creation of the Caucasian Emirate. “We, the Mujahideen, went out to fight the infidels not for the sake of fighting but to restore the Shariah of Allah in our land,” said Umarov “Today in Afghanistan, Iraq, Somalia and Palestine our brothers are fighting.”
