The Taliban in Swat and the military agreed to another cease fire after Fazlullah’s spokesman called for “using suicide attacks and waging guerilla war.” The pro-Taliban MMA party said there would be no strikes in Swat if it controlled the federal government. The government dropped leaflets in Malakand urging the people to back the government against the Taliban. A plot to attack the Peshawar airport was foiled after three rockets were fired. Large parts of the NWFP went dark after the Taliban bombed a power pylon.
