Unidentified attackers torched the car of the chief prosecutor in Malhalla. Student supporters of the Muslim Brotherhood clashed with police outside Al-Azhar university in Cairo. The Sinai-based jihadist group Ansar Bayt al Maqdis (Ansar Jerusalem) released a video calling for jihad against "the Jews, the Christians, the polytheists, the apostates, the Rawafidh [Shi'ites] and the aggressors, by the money, the self, and the tongue." The video condemned democracy, which allegedly "pushes the Muslims into the orbit of the global system controlled by the Zionist Crusaders" and aims "to prevent the Muslims from establishing a Caliphate."
