President Obama has asked the Pentagon to expand the list of potential targets for the proposed Syrian military intervention; the use of Air Force bombers is now being contemplated. The administration continued to lobby lawmakers to support the proposed strikes. US officials said they intercepted a message from the head of Iran's Revolutionary Guards Qods Force to Iranian-supported Shiite militia groups in Iraq ordering them to attack the US Embassy and other American interests in Baghdad if the US strikes Syria.
