US Marine build Combat Outpost Payne in southern Helmand province
US Marines establish Combat Outpost Payne near Khanishin in the Reg district in Helmand province, Afghanistan. The outpost is the southernmost US base in Helmand and will support operations against the Taliban along the Pakistani border.
