Authorities announced increased counterterrorism measures to be taken throughout the country during Ramadan and later this summer. At least 10 members of al Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb were killed by security forces in recent operations in Bouira, Bordj Bou Arreridj, and Drâa Ben Khedda.
