Al Qaeda

Said Ali al Shihri, the deputy leader of al Qaeda in Yemen, was released from Saudi custody in 2007 after being released into Saudi custody from Guantanamo Bay. Shihri “passed through a Saudi rehabilitation program for former jihadists.” He is thought to have played a role in the September 2008 attack on the US embassy in Sana’a.
