Afghanistan

A NATO airstrike killed Mullah Berader, a top Taliban commander and member of the Shura Majlis. The Taliban threatened more kidnappings after releasing the remaining seven Korean hostages. “We will do the same thing with the other allies in Afghanistan, because we found this way to be successful,” said a Taliban spokesman. Seven Taliban suspects were detained in Ghazni province and another six were captured in Nangarhar.
