I applaud the ingenuity of this (much like the improvised-fighting-vehicle-cum-A-Team-style-DIY-up-armor-van-conversion), but I would think that any sort of slip could easily take out all six of these guys in one fell swoop. The consequences of a misfire are much worse than with a water balloon launcher

Their aim must be very good. With lookouts on the roofs being able to yell if someone happens to walk in the vicinity of its one target area. Perhaps they are leaving nice Syrian cakes to entice them into the right place.
