So we sit this one out, and let Iran and Putinistan get bled white - they're reward? scorn, and a kick in the teeth. (well earned imho)
As the hot-heads kill each other off, Islam stumbles forward to find a more moderate tone. We provide a nudge in the right direction from time to time, and gain begrudging respect with each passing day.
We appear to be back to the pre-Bush containment strategy. Not a bad policy, all in all - except of course for the thousands of innocent caught in the crossfire of a Russian-style "Big hammer, small brain" battle doctrine.
