Al Qaeda-linked cleric Mullah Krekar is slated for release from prison on Jan. 25, after serving time for issuing death threats against Prime Minister Solberg and several other people. Norwegian intelligence has sought to expel him, considering his Ansar al Islam group a threat to Norway, but he cannot be extradited to Iraq as he would face the death penalty there. Norwegian media organizations beefed up security after 12 people were killed and 20 wounded in an attack on a satirical magazine in Paris.
