Suspected Islamist terrorists drove two offroad vehicles into a busy market in Urumqi in Xinjiang province, throwing explosives and detonating the vehicles, killing 31 people and injuring 94. President Xi Jinping beefed up security and vowed severe punishment for the attack, the biggest in the region in years.
