The Al Nusrah Front and the Islamic Front battled regime forces in Hama; in Aleppo, where they were joined by the al Mujahideen army; in Reef Dimashq; and in Latakia, where they were joined by the Junoud al Sham, Ahrar al Sham, Sham al Islam, and Ansar al Sham. Turkish border guards opened fire on Kurdish civilians trying to enter Turkey from Syria in Aleppo. The Islamic State of Iraq and the Sham executed a defected soldier in Hasakah, and clashed with Islamic fighters in Deir Izzour. A large car bomb detonated outside a mosque in the largely Alawite Akrama area of Homs, killing at least 14 people and injuring over 50. Mortars and rockets have begun targeting Druze neighborhoods in Sweida, following an alleged vow by Al Nusrah that it would attack military and paramilitary targets in Sweida to "avenge" the deaths of Deraa residents.
