Syria has released 61 female detainees as part of a hostage swap. Regime and Hezbollah forces retook most of Hteitat al-Turkman in Reef Dimashq from the Islamic State of Iraq and the Sham, the Al Nusrah Front, and rebel groups after days of heavy fighting. Kurdish YPG forces clashed with ISIS in Aleppo near Azaz, killing an ISIS commander from Jordan. YPG forces took over several bases from the ISIS and its allies in Hasakah after heavy fighting. An activist group claims to have documented the deaths of 30,000 regime fighters since the conflict began, and says the actual number is over 50,000.
