A district court judge accepted the guilty plea of former Pfc. Eric Harroun to the lesser charge of conspiring to violate arms-control laws and sentenced him to time served. Harroun, who has admitted to fighting with the al Qaeda-affiliated Al Nusrah Front in Syria, had also been accused of providing material support to a foreign terrorist organization and conspiring to use destructive devices overseas. The White House said it is ready to engage in talks with Tehran about Iran's nuclear program: it is also telling Israeli officials the US will judge Iran by its actions, not its words.
