The Interior Ministry confirmed that Tuesday's mortar attack in Tripoli had targeted the Corinthia hotel; in the first admission that it has begun to obtain intelligence on terrorist activities, the ministry said it was warned a few days before that some sites were being targeted. Due to security concerns, no US citizens, including the US ambassador, attended a US embassy iftar meal Tuesday evening. The ministry also admitted that Tuesday's attacks in Benghazi and Sirte were probably coordinated. A rocket-propelled grenade hit the UAE embassy in Tripoli early this morning; no one was hurt.
